Research interests
1. Synthesis of size- and shape- controlled functional nanostructures.
Developing robust synthetic strategies based on soft chemical methods to synthesize size- and shape functional nanostructure; Probing the mechanism of size- and shape- evolution of nanostructure with diverse morphologies; Modulating the size and shape of functional nanostructures so as to realize the size- and shape-dependent luminescent property.
2. Design of hierarchical architectures and porous nanostructures for catalytic applications.
Creating three-dimensionally ordered macro- and meso-porous architectures with controlled pore sizes, adjustable skeleton components, variable noble metal species and diverse surface characteristics for enhanced catalysis of energy conversion and environment protection; Designing hollow double shell micro- and nano-reactors with recovering and separable capability for organic coupling reaction.
3. Development of fluorescent nanostructures for biological imaging, targeting and detecting, and fingerprint detection.
Developing rare earth and semiconductor luminescent nanomaterials with functional surface modification for biological imaging, targeting and detecting in vitro and in vivo; Conducting conjugating chemistry to link biological melecules with nanoparticles; Exploring the application of luminescent nanoparticles for fingerprint detection with high resolution and sensitivtiy on a variety of object surfaces.
